چکیده
We give the first polynomial-time algorithms on graphs of bounded maximum induced matching width (mim-width) for problems that are not locally checkable. In particular, we give nO(w)-time algorithms on graphs of mim-width at most w, when given a decomposition, for the following problems: Longest Induced Path, Induced Disjoint Paths and H-Induced Topological Minor for fixed H. Our results imply that the following graph classes have polynomial-time algorithms for these three problems: Interval and Bi-Interval graphs, Circular Arc, Permutation and Circular Permutation graphs, Convex graphs, kTrapezoid, Circular k-Trapezoid, k-Polygon, Dilworth-k and Co-k-Degenerate graphs for fixed k.

متن کاملA Unified Polynomial-Time Algorithm for Feedback Vertex Set on Graphs of Bounded Mim-Width
We give a first polynomial-time algorithm for (Weighted) Feedback Vertex Set on graphs of bounded maximum induced matching width (mim-width). Explicitly, given a branch decomposition of mim-width w, we give an nO(w)-time algorithm that solves Feedback Vertex Set. This provides a unified algorithm for many well-known classes, such as Interval graphs and Permutation graphs, and furthermore, it gi...
متن کاملOn Shortest Disjoint Paths in Planar Graphs
For a graph G and a collection of vertex pairs {(s1, t1), . . . , (sk, tk)}, the k disjoint paths problem is to find k vertex-disjoint paths P1, . . . , Pk, where Pi is a path from si to ti for each i = 1, . . . , k. In the corresponding optimization problem, the shortest disjoint paths problem, the vertex-disjoint paths Pi have to be chosen such that a given objective function is minimized. We...
متن کاملCounting Euler Tours in Undirected Bounded Treewidth Graphs
We show that counting Euler tours in undirected bounded tree-width graphs is tractable even in parallel by proving a GapL ⊆ NC ⊆ P upper bound. This is in stark contrast to #P-completeness of the same problem in general graphs. Our main technical contribution is to show how (an instance of) dynamic programming on bounded clique-width graphs can be performed efficiently in parallel. Thus we show...
متن کاملA Width Parameter Useful for Chordal and Co-comparability Graphs
In 2013 Belmonte and Vatshelle used mim-width, a graph parameter bounded on interval graphs and permutation graphs that strictly generalizes clique-width, to explain existing algorithms for many domination-type problems, also known as (σ, ρ)problems or LC-VSVP problems, on many special graph classes. In this paper, we focus on chordal graphs and co-comparability graphs, that strictly contain in...
